Canon EF-S 10-22mm Wide Angle Lens Unboxing & Review

My thoughts after about a month shooting with my first wide angle lens, with lots of examples, plus a basic explanation of crop factor.

One of the best videos I’ve seen about the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. Good job.

Hello. I just got this lens and I wanted to test out video with it. I noticed it makes noise which I’m guessing it’s the AF motor. Is there anyway to make videos and not hear the noise? I like to do 2″ sec videos really and I would love to be able to do that with this lens. Thanks.

looks pretty cool but why use an expensive lens in a sheep dslr with crop sensor like Canon T2i don’t you prefer to save some money and buy a full frame DSLR like Canon D6 with much better result and pretty close price???

Angie Diaz says:

tillamook!

Looks like some of my home turf in Oregon! I live in Alaska now and the scenery is beyond gorgeous. I’m getting the 10-22mm lens today to get more sky in my northern lights photos, as well as hopefully not having to do panoramic shots as much for landscapes 🙂 Thank you for the great video!

Adam Axelsson says:

do you know some good wide angle lens for micro 4/3 cameras? nice video

Justin/Rachael Taylor says:

Absolute staple of my lens bag!! Nice video.

Alex Young says:

you may have answered this already. If so, I apologize. How loud is the lens while autofocusing. Obviously you couldn’t test if it would be picked up by your mic, since your camera doesn’t have live af, but in a case of, say a 70D/80D, do you think the lens noise would be picked up on the built in mic? what about if you used an ext mic?

Daveeddd4 says:

How long has this lens been in the market? I’ve read somewhere where it said the lens was 10 years old

Andrew Nguyen says:

Just got one myself! I am very excited to use it!

EXCELLENT video Eric. Truly professional and thoughtfully described and explained. Thank you!

Sandro says:

nick chung says:

Royalty Wheels says:

Hi! Great video. I have a canon T5 and the thing I hate about it is that it doesn’t auto focus! I did not quite understand if the lens does autofocus?

Eurodollar tv says:

what is the differences between .35x wide angle vs 0.43 wide angle lens?

TIMES SIX says:

when filming, is the autofocus quiet?

Paul C says:

Nice video. The lens is for crop sensors and the focal length is 10-20mm the crop factor only applies when using full frame lenses on crop sensor bodies
