ABHISHEK PRASAD says:

Hi Dustin your review has been very good but the microphone seems to be a bit far.

Jake Held says:

Thanks for the great review, just ordered mine!!

Buddy Cox says:

Thank you for this! I was considering this lens, but this is the first I’ve heard of the new version.

Eric Rose says:

Stoked to try this out. Getting into more product photography and the timing for this lens seems perfect.

Moritz Merle says:

Hello Dustin! Thx for the Review. I have one Question: Can I make good quality macro videos with this lense?

o'5 says:

Type this in youtube searchlist // FESWE F USD= // this video will be first

Joe.S Photography says:

hi, after these time of using both canon and tamron, can you advise on which is still better since the canon and tamron one is now both in a very equal price.

graham Wooton says:

Hi can you tell me if this lens works with the canon 70D crop sensor Thanks

Fallen Star Features says:

I realize your interest is in this lens’ use in still photography, but I’m wondering if you could comment on the dynamic behavior of the F017’s VC compared to the F004? I noticed a bit of ratcheting in the framing of the shot where you tested for flare from direct sunlight, an effect I’ve seen in some optically stabilized lenses intended for still photography. I find the stabilization in the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC works well for handheld video, and would be interested in which of the two 90mm f2.8 VC versions you think would perform more smoothly for video shooting?

ABHISHEK PRASAD says:

So out of 100 what would be your score for this tamron lens and 100mm f2.8 IS macro lens from canon.

Mark Cataldo says:

Well done review. Having just picked this lens up I would say you pretty much hit the nail on the head. This really is a fine lens in optics, performance and build. I had the Canon L version on my camera and in hand while shopping this lens and am pleased I went with the Tamron. Thanks again for an accurate review!

Jeid Farnham says:

One of the best reviews I’ve seen. Appreciate the detail.

Paulo André Fernandes says:

Hi again. Sorry for so many questions, but I’m on the verge of buying one of these lenses and wish to be as certain as I can be about which on will serve me better. I would like to buy a macro, as I already said, but wish it to be a usefull tools for portrature as well. Between the Canon 100mm 2.8L IS and the Tamron 90mm 2.8 VC for this goal, what would you say?

Paulo André Fernandes says:

Dustin, I intend to buy a macro lens and I’m considering the Canon 100mm 2.8L IS and the Tamron 90mm 2.8 VC. The price difference is not large and so it’s not a concern. Which one would you recomend? Thank you

Michael Claesson says:

Thanks for interesting and thorough reviews, Dustin! Not to mention professionally shot. The only downside is that you end up wanting to buy a lot of great lenses 😉

Cheers!

Christian Young says:

Just found out this existed, was about to buy the Canon L lens as well and decided to go with this. Any thoughts on this vs. the heralded Tokina Macro?

WONG KHO SEAN says:

pleased review zeiss milvus 100mm f/2 lens. TQ

Kanak Naik says:

Tokina has the 100mm f2.8 macro a well. How does it fare in comparison to tge tamron 90mm macro?

Wahab Dilawar says:

How could you NOT mention the fact that now the focus is internal?

Fallen Star Features says:

The earlier version of this lens could not get within 50 feet of f2.8. When focused closer than that, the widest aperture it could reach was f3. Any info on whether the new Tap-In Console version shares this limitation?

Arthur Stingo says:

Hi DustIn , Video Is Very Helpful Thank You For Doing It. My Question I shoot with a nikon d750 an i’m looking for a macro lens.. would you say this would be the best lens to get or would you recommend another lens..

Javad Khaleghzadeh says:

Hi! I finally bought this lens a week ago, thanks to your great review, and I’m very happy with it. My only problem is, if even a problem at all, right out of the box, I could see
noticeable specs of dust behind the front element! They’re not influencing my shots, though. What about yours? Would you care at all?

Rudy Pierrat says:

Hi Dustin.
One year is past, and I’m wondering if you are still happy with this lens 🙂

Lad Mandiola says:

I currently have a Nikon D810 and currently using a AF-S NIKKOR 60mm 1:2.8 G ED and wanted to find out if Tamron SP 90mm would be a better lens for up close product still shots? Whatever you can let me know would be great.

Canigou Cycling - Girona & Pyrenees Road Cycling says:

Hi Dustin! I am thinking of trading in my trusty Canon 100 2.8L IS for this Tamron. If I understand your correctly, I will be just as well off as before, including IQ and focus, just gain additional weather sealing, correct? Any reason to still prefer the Canon? Also, do you think we can expect a new Tamron SP 180 macro sometime soon? Greetings from Spain, Dirk

Tuan Deen says:

quality review

RJ Explorations and Reviews says:

Dustin I have a question, what lens would you buy first, I am stuck between the Tamron sp 85&90mm… I watched all your reviews and really love them.. Keep up the good work..
Oh and I want to buy both of the lenses with time, just don’t know witch to pick first..

Paulo André Fernandes says:

Dustin, which one would you recomend for portraits, the Tamron 85mm 1.8 VC or the 90mm 2.8 Macro VC?

Cecil Sharps says:

i have a previous version in an adaptall 2 mount. Used it and loved it till i switched to digital. Then around 2008 i went with the sigma 70mm. Now in 2016 i’m going full circle and using the 272 version. Really wish i had more glass options for the k3

Will Slater says:

Hey Dustin, great channel – you have a new subscriber! I have the F004 version of this lens. In your opinion is it worth upgrading to the F017?

BlueyePhotog says:

Thank you very much.. I love my new 90. Great video and review.

brianminkc says:

I bought the first VC model of this lens largely because of your review.. thanks Dustin your one of the best reviewers on You Tube. I love the lens and since they have this new SP version out I got mine for $412 grey market. Its a stunning lens… awesome color, contrast and focus speed, accuracy and quiet motor. Its a fantastic lens.

Saad Khan says:

Thanks very much for this video. Very helpful. Excited to be getting this lens soon. 🙂

mustardymayo says:

Thanks for another awesome review! Looks like I will be replacing my good but quirky Canon 100 USM Macro with this lens soon!

Mare Vare says:

Dustin, I have been watching your reviews for some time and I have to say it looks great now. Very professional when it comes to sound, overall design and video quality. Very informative as usual. Thank you.

Taser Face says:

thanks for the review
I own F004 version on D810
the lens behaves very strangely, at closest distance 0.98feet the aperture opens max upto f5.6 n at infinity it opens upto f2.8
this is really strange behaviour of the lens on Nikon body
can you confirm if the issue is in lens or the my specific copy only!!!

Daniel Antunes says:

i just bought this lens as my first upgrade from my kit lens, and i cant thank you enough man,im having a blast with it,its superb for macro, great for portraits, and the birds i feed in my garden. Thanks sir for this detailed review.

ABHISHEK PRASAD says:

Hi Dustin have you done a review of sigma 105mm. which would be better this tamron lens or the sigma lens

Javad Khaleghzadeh says:

Thank you so much, Dustin, for the informative video. My question is will the aperture close, just like the older version, as you focus closer?

Daniel Delorme says:

I love your reviews, Dustin! Great work! Thank you for helping me to decide which lens to go for. 😉

Eern Weight says:

Is this works with crop sensor camera?

Natasa Veljovic says:

Could you tell me which lenses is the most rewarding if I am using canon 600d and mostly do street photography, landscapes, portraits and indoor (restaurants for example)? I can’t decide ’cause I am using 18-55 mm lens for very long period and for portraits 50 mm and I need to move up 🙂 Thanks a lot !

jinish upadhyay says:

Hi , Dustin . you speak very convincingly , gives lot of confidence to the viewers . I am ophthalmologist by profession , an hobbyist photographer . I s there an way to contact you . Thanks .

Stuart McCuaig says:

Hey Dustin, if you had the option would you buy the canon or tamron if money was not an issue. The benefit I see of the canon is that the camera will do lens corrections if you shoot Jpeg. All of my other lenses are Canon L glass accept for a Sigma 120-300 2.8 Sport. Great review.

WONG KHO SEAN says:

greatday Dustin, is this lens made in Japan? TQ & how about the comparison between Tamron sp 90mm f/2.8 (017) & Samyang 100mm f/2.8, which one better image quality, sharpness & detail? TQ

Colin Ziemer says:

How does this compare to the mighty Tokina 100mm 2.8v

Sean Temmerman says:

hi dustin
wich of the two lenses would i get for macro on a canon crop body , this tamron sp 90mm vc or the canon 100mm L lens , ist really difficult for me … hope you can help out good sir
