Sigma MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM review

The Sigma 105mm f2.8 has been in the shadow of it’s Canon cousin, but I’m here to defend the Sigma 105mm Macro and talk about it’s finest points and show some sample images

just purchased this lens from Amazon for £319. Sigma lenses have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years so much so I have replaced all my lenses with Sigma. I now have the 150-600mm contemporary and the 18-35mm Art. Simply amazing quality glass.

MTT Publishing says:

I purchased and older version of this lens recently. At least I believe it to be and older version as it doesn’t have all the switches as the one in the video

phillip jensen says:

Gabriel Aszalos says:

There is no Canon 105! You mean 100?

dragon warrior says:

Confused with this one or Tokina 100mm f2.8 Maco?

Oiseau Rare says:

Hi, I’m ignorant concerning macro’s mechanisms. I know that a macro lense is not just a matter of focal lense (105 mm for all macro lenses from what I see) and I don’t know what the difference is between a 105mm macro and a 105mm non-macro.
My questionning is the following : for the next wedding I’m going to cover, I’d like a focal over my current 85mm. I’m hesitating between the Nikon 135mm F/2.0 (I’m currently shooting only with fixed focal lenghts), the Nikon 70-200 (F/2.8 or F/4.0) for the convenience AND this Sigma 105mm *but only if I may use it **_also_** as a non-macro lense*, that’s to say to shoot portraits at distance during ceremony or cocktail for instance. In other words, is a macro lense versatile or only made to capture little objects/specimens’s close-ups ? Thank you very much and sorry if my english is a bit off…

Spike Cuizon says:

Best review I have a quick question. Is shooting portrait and candid shots works well with this lens?

Dwayne K. Smith says:

I’m considering this lens. Have you tried it on a crop sensor Camera? Would you have any advise for me with a 60d?

DEAD in SPACE Gaming says:

This is amazing I can’t believe this channel is so SMALL (ironic hey) but to improve i suggest writing a script and making points snappy I’m subscribed and staying tuned for definite. Oh and 10/10 on cinematography very interesting defiantly recommending channel.

Chris Clarke says:

Thanks for your review on this. I have just purchased one myself for my 6D too. I was a little dubious at first whether to commit and buy one. But after this review and seeing the end results you have achieved. Say no more lol. Great choice. I can’t wait to get shooting. Cheers and keep up the great reviews.

Ανανίας Σουκαράς says:

I have a question about this lens. The stabilization is so noisy when is turned on and when i change the lens direction make the same noise again and again. Is this right or something wrong with my lens. Thanks.
