What’s with the fake background?
I have a 60/2.8 and a 100/2.8 with IS. Of the two, the 100 is my fave due to the greater working distance and the IS. It also serves as a portrait lens on FF and crop.
I just got one for 40 us dollars plus 200 pesos more here in Tijuana Mexico, the extra 200 pesos where for the guy to get closer to me it is equal to like 10 dollars,so i paid about 50 dollars for mine.
this is my fav lens for portraits, unmatched sharpness, close range focus is really great… did I mention how damn sharp it is?
I love this lens, but kinda wish I had a 90 – 100 mm or the Sigma 150 macro:

I use this lens with a 2x tele-converter and it’s pretty sweet.
I have the G version of this lens and agree it’s a great lens. I would say in terms of macro specifically I prefer to use either my Tamron 90mm or Sigma 105mm just because I find I’m too close to the subject at 60 mm focal length. So if I were buying this for macro only I’d steer towards a longer focal length. It does a great job of portraiture and I’ve used my 60 mm many times, however 60 mm is a bit long in my opinion ( especially on DX ) as a walk about lens for street photography.
90mm tamron f2.8VC
OMG I made a video . 60 mm is short for a macro but I think it’s great all around as I said.
Thanks, made my day
Especially lately, I’ve been considering the 60mm AF-D to replace my 50mm 1.8 G. My 50 has an issue where it won’t open all the way up to f/1.8, and for portraiture, I wouldn’t mind that extra reach on my APS-C camera (trusty D7100).
the tokina 100 is awesome. yes i am always editing out the chromatic aberration with ease, but the bang for your buck is there. I have heard amazing things about the 60D but have you considered the 55mm 2.8 macro D? its all about the legacy.
Agreed to both Matt and dunnymonster
I bought the Tokina 100mm 2.8 macro and man is this lens SHARP, also good as a portrait lens. used on a D200 and D7200
