➠ In an upcoming video, I’ll share how I took the photo of the bee shown in this video, as well as how I edited the photo on my phone.
A macro lens for your phone can help you get super close to smaller subjects and open up a whole new world of photographic opportunities. I have had the pleasure of using multiple little lenses for my phone, including Olloclip, InstaLens, SquidCam and now Moment.
I’m still learning macro photography with my DSLR but I started years ago with my phone and sometimes certain subjects are just easier and more fun to take photos of with my phone. I can easily insert my hands into a shrub where a spider is hiding its web for example. I can get much lower down on the ground with my phone and I can take photos in a split second without having to first set up the shot. My phone is always with me so I see the world in a different way than I used to, my eyes are always scanning for tiny subjects, it’s amazing when you realize that it doesn’t matter where you live, or what season it is, our world is fascinating and this is a great way to learn to appreciate the little things in life.
