Meike 85mm F2.8 Macro Lens Review: Macro/Portrait Lens Under $300

I give a hands on review of the Meike 85mm f2.8 Macro Lens. This is a full manual lens that is affordable with a $299.99 USD price tag and is a good combo for macro and portrait photography. It is very well built, no weather sealing, but I would definitely say its worth adding to the camera bag if you dont mind figuring our your settings to get the proper exposure. This is available in 5 mounts, only two have shipped right now. Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji and Micro Four Thirds.

bought a mint condition canon 100mm macro L for 500 USD and it is fantastic. here in Singapore many canon users are switching and lots of canon second hand lenes are in the market. i m trying to buy as much as i can

I know someone said below Tokina has a few options, but this seems legit man. 300 bucks def isn’t bad

EW Images says:

Nice review Eric! Good to see photographers use and review lens options that are not brand specific. As for the lens not being autofocus, manual lenses have their place and I could see thia lens being used for both stills and video. Plus macro aspect adds value to get more detail shots.

YazeedSaber says:

Too much money for what it is. An autofocus Tokina 100mm 2.8 is $320 and an autofocus Tamron 90mm 2.8 is 300. Terrible deal this Meike.

Too Shmart says:

Just picked up a Sigma 105 2.8 Macro on ebay for $175, so excited to jump into macro

Eric Rossi says:

I was made aware the stock is still limited right now, but will update on here with more information.
