Sigma 16mm 1.4 Review [Sony e mount] – Is it too good to be true?

★ The Sigma 16mm 1.4 Review for Sony E mount ★ Is this the lens that every owner of the a6500, a6300, and a6000 should own? Or is it too good to be true?

16mm on the Sony APS-C is a fantastic focal range, just wide enough without being ultrawide. Then, keep in mind that f1.4 aperture and you have to know that this lens is going to make a splash. Think it’s too good to be true?

I do a lot of fashion photography and film YouTube videos, would you recommend this lens or the 1.8 18-35mm?

Julien SARTON says:

Hey Dunna! Have you ever experienced autofocus noises with this sigma 16mm ? I just bought one, and the autofocus is sooooo anormally loud !! I’ve check on the web, and it seems like it’s a common issue with this lens :((( Let me know your experience ! Thankssss

Hello I need some advise I will be going to the Amazon in June and I own a Sony a6000 with 3 lenses right now but I’m looking for a great lense that can be good for nature landscape moving animals or i have been thinking of purchasing a Sony rii as well with a super all around lense ; what would you recommend ? Thanks in advance

Safaa Gefferie says:

Hi, I am a beginner and am really into videography – that’s why I want to buy a camera in the first place – but I also would like to take good photos as well. The guy from the store recommended me the sony a7, but do you think this would be a useful first camera?

Dereck Mora says:

subbed half way through the video . Great work dude!

Beau Long says:

Would love to know how you edited those building shots! Really nice! I should be getting this lease soon. 🙂

ty ro says:

hey Dunna awesome review! I recently just bought the a6000 to take with me on a trip to Iceland. I am a beginner and have been doing a bunch of research on this camera. I would like to pick up a new lens before my trip. Im looking to shoot mostly landscapes and some street but I want to be able to capture the northern lights as well. Someone told me to looking into this sigma 16mm or the sony 35mm. What would you recommend?

Daniel Cuadrado says:

I have a barely used Sigma 16mm f/1.4 that I’m trying to get rid of! Let me know if you’re interested!

Poseidon says:

Sold!!

Fabron Calvin says:

Proud owner of this lens! Amazing lens. I do almost everything w it. Vlogging, landscape, timelapses, astrophotography, potraits. Talk about 1 lens for all.

Bennie Laars says:

I have the A6000 plus the Sigma and I’m very happy with it, it’s fantastic for low light situations but sometimes too shallow depth of field if you take a picture of a group at the Christmas dinner table. If you do need to use flash then one minor drawback is that it blocks out the lower left part of the photo so you have to manually tilt the flash a little bit.

Xavier Price says:

nice job id like to see what this lens looks like on an a7iii

Nishan Bilazarian says:

Does this have a focus button on it?? Thanks

The Real Ambro says:

Are there any alternative suggestions with stabilization for 6000/6300 users in the fast and wide category?

Farid Abdin says:

I like the editing do you have a tutorial for that ? 🙂

Ahmed Raouf says:

One of the best reviews on any lens that I’ve seen

Ryan Schneider VLOGS says:

Great tips about stabilizing without a gimbal

Connor Chen says:

I really learned a lot from this video! I’m a beginner photographer and I was looking for a camera and also some lenses. After watching this video, I was able to find a Sigma 16mm F/1.4 for around 325? But yeah thanks for the tips about these lenses! Subscribed!

Alex M says:

Thank you for that awesome Video!
I thinking about buying the a6300 and i also want to make videos. Do you think the in body stabilization makes a big different?
In the video you tested it, but it looked pretty much the same.
Sorry for my bad Englisch.
Nice greetings from Germany.
Thank you for your answer.

Jesse Roussell says:

would this lens work on the new Sony a7iii? It’s not FE? Would I have to switch to APS-C mode?

Min-Goo Kang says:

Thanks! It’s always fun to watch your review. I own Sony 35mm f1.8 and Rokinon 12mm f2.0 and 16-50mm kit lens on my 6500. I’m happy with both prime lenses, but wish I knew Sigma 16mm f1.4 earlier. Should I add this to my package?

M.A Hamid Boktheiyar says:

How to editing photo
Please make a video

Noel Briffa says:

For all Sony 6 series be carefull when shooting @ f2.8 !!!!!!! Do not
take photos looking from the view finder they will come a little blurry.
There is an issue with the autofocus of the lens when taking photos
looking from EVF, unless you thake photos looking from the back screen
of the camera 🙂

Ivan Cortez says:

This lens is the one next on my list. I’ve been buying vintage lenses for my 6500 but I need a wide angle lens with nice aperture since I do a lot of low light. Thanks for video, it really helped and btw great photo edits.

Kuya Baldo says:

30mm 1.4 of sigma need adapter for a6500 or no need?

Fx2Mx3 says:

mate would this work on a A7iii? Also is there one you would recommend for the A7iii? I moved from Canon and I am quite new to the sony world! Thanks in advance!

Shaquando Biggums says:

does anyone know if it will be as good on a Canon body??

Weberlyn Dossen says:

Is this lens only compatible with the a6000 series of Sony. Would it work with a Sony a5000?

Sam Harris says:

He’s canadian, he likes coffee, he crushes b-roll…

Game Mansion says:

Awesome video review about the lens 🙂 I wasnt sure if i wanna pick the 16mm or the 30mm by sigma. I already own the 50mm 1.8 OSS by Sony (which i really love) and another cheap 35mm lens. So the 16mm should compliment my setup. Thanks for the video 🙂 Greetings from germany!
