I already got 7Artisans 7.5mm f/2.8 fisheye and try it, I feel disappointed about it not being a full 180° FOV same Samyang lens. At first I try 7Artisans 7.5mm on m4/3 camera after that also try it on A7II in APSC cropped mode .. it’s look wider but not fully curve that I’ve expected. But it’s not too bad. here is jpeg file I test on both m4/3 and aps-c > https://www.dropbox.com/s/s0t1mv4vomjr036/_1310093.JPG?dl=0 / https://www.dropbox.com/s/4ucu72k24dvvtta/_DSC0551.JPG?dl=0

Be aware that similar Pixco clone it is total crap. Green circle lens c-mount 25mm f1.8 I bought it several days ago from ADPLO on Aliexpress. My piece of junk clone is branded by Pixco.
Unfortunately, it’s not working properly. These videos show a malfunction of this lens. You cannot set the aperture or focus properly because everything is turning around. This may be a single case of malfunction, but my experience shows that their quality control is very bad.

I highly not recommend to buy it. Look at those videos:

hello, you could get me a doubt I found this lens of 7Artisans in aliexpress to verder and in another seller has the msm lens but does not have the markings of the name 7Artisans but in the description says that the two have eleven elements in 8 groups, lens that does not have the markings be generic and not have the most definition and sharpness of this?

As far as I know this is the best price:
I hope this can help you

Hello, can you make some testes on the infinity focus mode?

Great review, thanks for sharing. I have 6.5 Opteka fisheye.

Хороший обзор. Хорошее стекло для тех кто хотел бы попробовать Фишай, но не хочет много тратить.

Mark Pitsilos says:

Oddly enough, the front element can fall off if you unscrew the ring that holds it in place after removing the lens hood!
Don’t know why on earth they would design it like that.

Impulse says:

Nice comparison, since I have other rectilinear UWA options I think I’ll stick with my Samyang (Bower), it being a full 180° FOV and more compact…

I can see how someone that wants to defish or just wants a cheaper option would like the 7Artisans tho. M4/3 continues to be spoiled for choices, this makes like 4-5 decent FEs at every price point now.

Barry Maskell says:

Chinese philosophy doesn’t look at long term value it’s all about making a quick buck – hence if they can take short cuts on quality they will – you would be better putting your $150 into a superior quality well known brand

Bobyfototube says:

I really need one for my G85 but the problem u mention about the focus ring gets me worried now & I am wondering how did you handle to tighten it back ? Is the screw outside on the focus ring ? Can u also do a 4 video review of this lens please thanks , in advance … Awesome work , keep it up …

Jazagivid says:

Very well done, and honest review.
Thank you for the all details and differences between the two.

I thought the FOV would be the same. To bad it is not.
Since I would like to de-fish these photos it looks like Samyang is still a better choice.
Focus ring issue also does not look good for 7artisans.

To bad for me.
I was really looking forward to spending less money and going for the new 7artisans.

MeshaL M says:

is it better than the olympus 9mm ?

Howie Mudge Photography says:

The biggest advantage of the 7 Artisans lens is how close it can focus compared to the Samyang 🙂
